New measures to strengthen activities of Committee of Concerned Citizens (CCC) in Madhupur, Tangail
A meeting was held on 8 July at the CCC office of Madhupur to find ways to strengthen its activities. Some local NGO workers were also present. The meeting was Chaired by CCC Convener, Golam Samdani while TIB?s Program Officer Samapika Halder was present. The meeting discussed CCC activities that took place in recent days. It was decided that CCC should initiate more programs and activities in remote areas to create awareness against corruption. The meeting also decided to involve other NGO staff in this regard.
Volunteers' day observed in Nalitabari
The volunteers of CCC Nalitabari area as a part of its various awareness activities observed 7 July 2004 as Volunteer?s Day. A meeting was held where Ruknuzzaman Jewel, leader of the Volunteer?s presided over and it was conducted by Khandakar Nahid Hasan. The meeting started with volunteers discussing news published on newspapers. A set-speech program was also held. It was decided that the volunteers would invite the local UNO in its activities from now on. It also decided to initiate new outreach programs and publish a wall magazine on regular basis. The meeting also expressed its deep shock at the sudden demise of Advocate Shamsul Haque, the Convener of Modhupur CCC.
