ট্রান্সপারেন্সি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল কর্তৃক পুরস্কৃত হলেন বাংলাদেশি তিন তরুণ আলোকচিত্রী
ঢাকা, ৯ নভেম্বর ২০১৩: বৈশ্বিক দুর্নীতিবিরোধী আন্দোলনের ২০ বছর পুর্তি উপলক্ষ্যে ট্রান্সপারেন্সি ইন্টারন্যাশনাল কর্তৃক আয়োজিত আর্ন্তজাতিক আলোকচিত্র প্রতিযোগিতায় বাংলাদেশের তরুণ আলোকচিত্রী সনি রামানি প্রথম স্থান অর্জন করেছেন। শিল্প দূষণের ফলে ঢাকার একটি লেকে ভেসে ওঠা মৃত মাছ ধরার দৃশ্য ফুটে উঠেছে ছবিটিতে। ৮ নভেম্বর বার্লিনে আয়োজিত একটি আন্তর্জাতিক কনফারেন্সে দুর্নীতিবিরোধী বিশেষজ্ঞ এবং টিআইবিসহ প্রায় একশো টিআই চ্যাপ্টার এর প্রতিনিধির উপস্থিতিতে সনি রামানিকে এ পুরস্কার প্রদান করা হয়।
বিশ্বের বিভিন্ন দেশের দুর্নীতির নেতিবাচক প্রভাবকে তুলে ধরার লক্ষ্যে আয়োজিত এ প্রতিযোগিতায় পাঁচ শতাধিক আলোকচিত্র জমা পড়ে। এর মধ্যে অন্য দুইজন বাংলাদেশী আলোকচিত্রী সুমন ইউসুফ রানা প্লাজা দুর্যোগের একটি আলোকচিত্রের জন্য ৩য় স্থান এবং এ. এম. আহাদ ঢাকায় দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে হাত তুলে শপথ গ্রহণের একটি আলোকচিত্রের জন্য বিশেষ সম্মাননা অর্জন করেন।
সনি রামানি তার পুরস্কার বাংলাদেশে দুর্নীতির কারণে ক্ষতিগ্রস্তদের উদ্দেশ্যে উৎসর্গ করে বলেন ভবিষ্যতেও তিনি তাঁর ক্যামেরা নিয়ে দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে আরো বেশী সোচ্চার ও অঙ্গীকারাবদ্ধ থাকবেন। বাংলাদেশের বিশিষ্ট আইনজীবি এবং টিআই এর প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সদস্য ড. কামাল হোসেন; টিআইবি ট্রাস্টি বোর্ডের মহাসচিব সেলিনা হোসেন; টিআইবি’র নির্বাহী পরিচালক ড. ইফতেখারুজ্জামান এবং উপনির্বহাহী পরিচালক ড. সুমাইয়া খায়ের সনি রামানিকে তার এই অসাধারণ অর্জনের জন্য অভিনন্দন জানিয়েছেন।
এক বিবৃতিতে টিআইবি’র নির্বাহী পরিচালক ড. ইফতেখারুজ্জামান বলেন, “আর্ন্তজাতিক প্রতিযোগিতায় বাংলাদেশের তরুণ তিন আলোকচিত্রী- সনি, সুমন ও আহাদ-এর সাফল্য দেশের তরুণ সমাজের জন্য এক বিশাল গৌরব ও পরিতৃপ্তির বিষয়, যারা বিভিন্ন উপায়ে দুর্নীতির বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদ করার জন্য দৃঢ় প্রতিজ্ঞ। তিনি আরও বলেন, এটি বাংলাদেশি তরুণদের তাদের নিজ নিজ অবস্থান থেকে দুর্নীতিবিরোধী অঙ্গীকারকে সুদৃঢ় করবে।”
এ উৎসবে তরুণ দুর্নীতিবিরোধী রচনা প্রতিযোগিতায় সেরা পুরষ্কার পেয়েছেন নাইজেরিয়ার উগো উইলসন এমেনিক।
এ বছরের টিআই এর বার্ষিক সততা পুরষ্কার পেয়েছেন দুইজন সাংবাদিক- চীনের লিও চেংপিং এবং এঙ্গোলার রাফায়েল মারকেস ডে মোরাইস। যারা দু’জনই তাদের নিজ নিজ দেশের বিরূপ পরিস্থিতির মধ্যেও দুর্নীতির ক্ষতিকর প্রভাবের চিত্র সকলের কাছে তুলে ধরেছেন।পুরো দেশের নাট্যাঙ্গনের সক্রিয় কর্মী শ্রী নিহারেন্দু কর শুক্রবার সকাল ১১টায় এক মর্মান্তিক সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় মৃত্যুবরণ করেন (১৯৫৪ ৩০ মে - ৮ মে ২০১৩)।
এক শোক বার্তায় টিআইবি ট্রাস্টি বোর্ড ও উপদেষ্টা পরিষদের সদস্যবৃন্দ, সকল কর্মী, দেশের ৪৫টি এলাকার সনাক-স্বজন-ইয়েস ও ঢাকা ইয়েস সদস্য দুর্নীতিবিরোধী আন্দোলনের একজন সাহসী সহযাত্রী শ্রী নিহারেন্দু করের মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করে তাঁর বিদেহী আত্মার শান্তি কামনা করেন এবং শোক সন্তপ্ত পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জানান।
সাংস্কৃতিক অঙ্গনের অতি পরিচিত মুখ শ্রী নিহারেন্দু কর ছিলেন একাধারে মঞ্চ ও পথনাটকের একজন নিবেদিত প্রাণ কর্মী, সমাজসেবী ও দুর্নীতিবিরোধী আন্দোলনের অগ্রণী। দুর্নীতিবিরোধী সামাজিক আন্দোলনে তাঁর সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণ, দূরদৃষ্টিসম্পন্ন পরামর্শ ও আন্তরিক সহযোগিতা টিআইবি শ্রদ্ধাভরে স্মরণ করছে।
Three Youths win awards in photo-competition by Transparency International
Dhaka, 09 November, 2013: Sony Ramany, a young photographer of Bangladesh has been awarded the first prize in the international youth photo competition organized by Transparency International (TI) to mark the 20th anniversary of the global coalition against corruption. The awarded photo shows a man holding dead fish in a lake in Dhaka due to industrial pollution violating regulations. Sony Ramany was handed over the award on November 8 in an international conference held in Berlin attended by anti-corruption experts and representatives of nearly 100 national chapters of TI, including TIB.
Organized with the objective of illustrating the negative effects of corruption in the world the competition received over 1400 entries among which two other Bangladeshi photographers were recognized – Sumon Yusuf for occupying the 3rd place for his photo of the Rana Plaza disaster and A.M Ahad for receiving honourble mention for his photo of people raising hands against corruption in an oath-taking event in Dhaka.
Sony Ramany dedicated his award to the victims of corruption in Bangladesh, and said he will be further committed to work against corruption using his camera. He was congratulated by eminent lawyer Dr Kamal Hossain, a founding member of TI; Ms Selina Hossain, Secretary General of TIB; Dr Iftekharuzzaman, Executive Director and Dr Sumaiya Khair, Deputy Executive Director.
In a press statement Iftekharuzzman said that the success of three young Bangladeshi photographers – Sony, Sumon and Ahad - in this global competition is a great source of pride and satisfaction for the young generation of Bangladesh, who are determined to stand up against corruption in many different ways. It will inspire the Bangladeshi youth to reaffirm their anti-corruption pledge from their respective positions, he said.
The celebrations included youth anti-corruption writing competition, in which the best award went to Ugoh Wilson Emenike of Nigeria.
This year’s annual TI Integrity Awards were received by two journalists - Luo Changping of China and Rafael Marques de Morais of Angola, both for exposing corruption in their respective countries defying adverse conditions.
