Transparency International Bangladesh’s (TIB) Committees of Concerned Citizens (CCCs) observed International Anti-Corruption Day (IACD) on 9 December with the theme ‘Together Stronger Against Corruption’. Nationwide programmes - organised by CCC-YES and Dhaka YES Groups in collaboration with district/upazila administrations, the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC), and other stakeholders - featured diverse activities such as discussions, rallies, human chains, and awareness campaigns.

A total of 44,169 citizens, with 20,063 males, 24,106 females, and 5,719 from marginalized communities, participated in the programmes, where the speakers underscored global corruption challenges and stressed the need for social movements, moral education, and efforts for sustainable development.

The speakers also highlighted appropriate legal measures and called for combined efforts from the government, civil society, and people. They emphasised grassroots-level action, patriotism, mindset change, and united social movement against corruption, aligning with the month of victory. The CCCs presented anti-corruption recommendations, drawing participation of lawmakers, officials, journalists, and civil society members, reflecting a collective commitment to fighting corruption.
