Dhaka & Gaibandha, 29 November 2023: In the recent YES Representative Election 2023 conducted online by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), Md. Mehedi Hasan from the Committee of Concerned Citizens (CCC), Gaibandha, and Abrar Jahin Raien from the Institute of Social Welfare and Research (ISWR), Dhaka University, emerged victorious. Md. Mehedi Hasan, a dedicated youth leader and founder of Boibari Library, Gaibandha, was elected as the CCC-based YES representative, while Abrar Jahin Raien, a 4th-year student at Dhaka University, secured the position of Dhaka YES representative. Both will serve a non-renewable term of two years, starting from their first General Assembly meeting on November 29, 2023.
Mehedi Hasan, currently pursuing Islamic History and Culture at Gaibandha Government College, holds the position of Team Leader in the CCC-based YES Group and serves as the General Secretary of Prothom Alo Bandhu Sabha, Gaibandha. He is also the recipient of the Meena Media Award-2018 presented by UNICEF.
Abrar Jahin Raien, actively engaged with the YES group since December 2020, is the Deputy Team Leader of Social Welfare YES Group. His achievements include the 'Duke of Edinburgh Award-2022' by the British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, and the 'President Scout Award-2015' and 'Shapla Cub Award-2011'.
