Lalmonirhat, 17 October 2023, & Madhupur, 30 October 2023: Information fair, a collaborative effort between the Committee of Concerned Citizens (CCC) and local administrations, was held in Lalmonirhat on 17 October 2023 and in Madhupur, Tangail on 30 October 2023. These events aimed at promoting effective implementation of the Right to Information Act 2009 at local level as well as facilitating free flow of information for preventing corruption.
During the opening ceremony in Lalmonirhat, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mr. Mohammad Ullah, highlighted the importance of keeping information updated in the government offices.
A total of 28 government entities participated and shared their service-related information in the two-day fair. Discussions, cultural programmes, and competitions emphasised the importance of access to information.
In Madhupur, a daylong information fair featured stalls of various government departments and disseminated information. Both the events underscored the shared responsibility of citizens and institutions for effective implementation of the Right to Information Act along with the need for developing strong connectivity between service seekers and providers.
