Biography

Susmita Chakma is a human rights activist, lawyer, and campaigner for protecting the rights of indigenous communities in Bangladesh. She is an advocate at the Rangamati District Judge’s Court and panel lawyer for Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust - Rangamati and District Legal Aid Committee. Apart from her legal profession, she is affiliated with the Committee of Concerned Citizens (CCC), TIB, Rangamati; Taungya, a Rangamati-based NGO; Jum Aesthetic Council (JAC), Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Women Resource Network (WRN), and the CHT Citizen’s Committee (CHTCC).
