Biography

Tasneem Arefa Siddiqui is an acclaimed professor at the Department of Political Science, University of Dhaka. In addition to her professional work in political science, she has extensively researched and contributed to significant policy reforms on issues relating to refugees, disaster-induced mass displacements, and trans-border & internal migrations in Bangladesh.

She is an advisory board member at the Geneva -based UN Platform on Disaster Displacement, a member of the Global Editorial Board of the Journal of Migration Studies published by the Oxford University Press, a member of Forum Asia, and the founding chairperson of the Refugee and Migratory Movements Research Unit (RMMRU) at the University of Dhaka.
